What’s the difference between epoxy, polyurea, and polyaspartic?
All three are floor coating systems, but they cure differently and offer different levels of UV resistance, flexibility, and chemical resistance. Epoxy costs less but cures slowly and is not UV-stable. Polyurea cures fast and stays flexible but yellows in sunlight unless top-coated. Polyaspartic cures fast, stays UV-stable, and resists chemicals and stains the longest.

Is one floor coating system simply the best?
No single chemistry wins across every category. Epoxy, polyurea, and polyaspartic each trade one strength for another; cure time, UV stability, flexibility, and cost don’t all max out in the same material.
For most residential garages, we recommend our full polyfloor system: a polyurea base coat, a full flake broadcast, and a polyaspartic top coat, because it combines the strengths of multiple systems in one floor.

Timelines depend on the system. Polyaspartic and polyurea systems are frequently completed in 1-2 days, including surface preparation through diamond grinding. Epoxy and urethane cement systems typically require longer cure schedules.

Will my coating peel or chip?
